The Challenge
Our customer is a leading industrial engineering company headquartered in Germany. Although their subsidiary in Budapest focuses on the automotive industry, they started a project to develop a comprehensive IoT solution for managing smart home devices from a single platform.
As the project undertaken by the customer was very different from its core business, a large part of the necessary development expertise was not available inside the organization. Therefore, the company decided to contact DSS Consulting to provide the missing skills — including a project manager, a software architect, Java, mobile and embedded developers as well as a UX/UI designer.
As the task at hand was complex and posed several challenges, the customer insisted on hiring very experienced, senior experts for each position.
The Solution
As the first step, DSS understood the requirements in detail (technologies, methodology, domain knowledge, soft skills, etc.). Then, DSS became deeply involved in determining the necessary skills and experience for each required position, in close cooperation with the customer.
Also, the selection and integration of team members is facilitated by the fact that candidates undergo not only a professional but also a psychological selection process.
With regard to these, the required team was set up in a short time:
- Core team (software architect and two developers) was completed in less than a month
- Extended team (core team plus a project manager, additional developers and a UX/UI designer) was set up in three months
The Result
Thanks to the thorough assembly and consistent management of the team, there was only minimal fluctuation during the project, and the team was able to complete its tasks within the allocated timeframe. Satisfied with the quick team setup and the successful project work, the customer has since entrusted DSS with providing IT resources for several additional projects.
