AI-enabled Data Transformation: Routine Tasks, Automated
In our previous posts on Artificial Intelligence, we have provided a brief history of AI and what we at DSS Consulting focus on when using it. We then gave a specific example of how we use AI to support industrial digitalization.
Now let us describe AI-enabled data transformation, with its almost limitless possibilities, through some more recent examples.
What is AI-enabled data transformation?
As we will see, AI-assisted data transformation can be based on a wide variety of solutions, but they all have in common that they use AI to produce structured data (meeting specific criteria) from unstructured data.
The format of the source data to be processed can be diverse: the simplest is obviously to process so-called simple (non-image) PDFs, but it is also possible to process and transform more complex source data, such as an audio recording or text scanned as an image.
For the output format, the most common need is also for text-based, template-based output, but depending on the client’s needs, multiple formats are possible.
It is also important to note that in all cases, human validation of the data received is required, so that no incorrect output data due to AI errors can occur.
But what is it all good for?
For our customers, the most important benefit is the automation of routine tasks – saving time and reducing costs. It’s also worth noting that the automated solution reduces the likelihood of human errors, which are particularly common in the case of routine tasks.
Let’s look at some examples!
As our in-house development, we have a CV anonymization solution that transfers relevant information from CVs into a specific document template, while removing personal data (name, address, contact details, last job). The resulting document can then be further edited if necessary.
For our large client in banking, we are preparing for the development of an AI-enabled application that supports the writing of technical specifications that are particularly complex in this sector.
For a cutomer in the industrial sector, we have a proof-of-concept application ready to automate the writing of certification protocols – instead of the current intensive live typing, only the final technical validation is done by expert staff.
Finally, our emerging solution supports complex, multi-round testing processes for printed circuit boards, generating test reports in the format and structure required by our clients’s customers.
We can see that AI-enabled data transformation can help achieve efficiency improvements and labor cost reductions in a wide range of enterprise operations relatively quickly and cost-effectively – and this is just the beginning of the journey.
